The invention relates to a system for controlling an illumination system (SSO), whereby the components of the illumination system have a determined number of degrees of freedom. The inventive control system consists of: a screen (EC) which is made from a light-reflecting material, comprising several marks having known dimensions and positions; a camera (CCD) which can be used to photograph the illumination of the screen; and a processing device (DT) which can be used to establish a connection between the photograph of the screen and pre-recorded photographs. The invention is particularly suitable for solar stimulators.
