The vessel includes an operating chamber and a precompression chamber between which a flexible diaphragm is arranged. The operating chamber can accommodate a volume of the fluid at system pressure, while the precompression chamber can be filled with a compressible medium at a given pressure. The pressure expansion vessel is provided with a weighing device (2). The sum of the volumes of the precompression chamber and operating chamber is constant. Independent claims are included for an apparatus for determining a pre-pressure, and method for determining a pre-pressure.
