<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal ring capable of avoiding a risk that clogging is generated in a circulation device. <P>SOLUTION: This seal ring is a seal ring 1 comprising a seal sleeve 2 made of a high molecular material. When using the seal ring 2 for a purpose, the seal sleeve 2 has an L-shape cross section and the seal sleeve 2 is formed of a fixed area 3 extended in the radial direction and a sealing area 4 extended in the axial direction to surround a surface 5 of a mechanical element 6 to be sealed, while sealing it with a preload, and the sealing area 4 has at least one circulation device 7 for circulating a medium to be sealed toward a space 8 to be sealed on a side thereof opposite to the surface 5. In the circulation device 7 formed of at least one circulation groove 10 spirally extended from the space 8 to be sealed to the peripheral environment 9, cross sectional area of the circulation groove 10 is increased as it comes close to the peripheral environment 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
