<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an an image forming apparatus with a simple structure with which the foreign substances stuck to the interior of an apparatus main body can be removed and the occurrence of an image defect, paper sheet conveyance defect, etc., can be effectively prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a cleaning member 32 which is conveyed inside a paper sheet conveyance path 10 and removes the foreign substances inside the apparatus main body, and a transfer apparatus 15 which is commonly used as a charging means for charging the cleaning member. After the cleaning member 32 conveyed in a paper sheet conveyance direction is charged by the transferring apparatus 15, the cleaning member 32 is reversely conveyed toward the uppermost stream side of the paper sheet conveyance path 10. Thereafter, the cleaning member 32 is again conveyed in the paper sheet conveyance direction and is discharged, and thereby the foreign substances inside the apparatus main body are removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
