PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the luminance unevenness between respective pixels due to the variation in the threshold voltage of a transistor for light emission driving.
SOLUTION: The pixel configuration of an SES driving system equipped with an organic EL element E 1 and the transistor Tr 1 for light emission driving, a transistor Tr 2 for data writing, and a transistor Tr 3 for elimination capable of eliminating the charges in a capacitor C 1 for light emission sustainment, includes a capacitor C 2 for correction voltage sustaining, a transistor Tr 4 for correction voltage writing, and a transistor Tr 5 for switching. Accompanying the on operation of the transistor Tr 3, the transistor Tr 4 is turned on and the transistor Tr 4 is turned off. In this state, the threshold voltage (Vth) of the transistor Tr 1 is written into the capacitor C 2. When the pixel is lighted, the drain current of the transistor Tr 1 is made to flow by the gate-source voltage formed by adding the threshold voltage written into the capacitor C 2 to the data voltage written into the capacitor C 1.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
