PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of removing metals, especially Cd, efficiently from the digestive caecum of scallops. SOLUTION: The method comprises immersing the digestive caecum in a solution of an organic acid to leach out metals in the gland into the solution, bringing the solution containing the leached out metals into contact with a graft-polymer capturing material by a circulating means to remove the metals from the solution and reusing the solution after the removal of the metals in the immersion of the digestive caecum of scallops, with the procedures carried out continuously.
