PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing for food equipment which can realize a high degree of mechanical strength and lubrication compounding, can freely choose a combination of a resin material and lubrication oil according to the application or specification of the rolling bearing, and has high durability under such a condition as low torque and high temperature. SOLUTION: The rolling bearing for the food equipment includes an inner ring with a running surface on the outer periphery and an outer ring with a running surface on the inner periphery which are arranged concentrically with each other, a plurality of rolling elements arranged between both the running surfaces, and a retainer for holding the plurality of rolling elements. The retainer is formed from a resin porous body into which lubrication oil is impregnated, the porous body having a communication hole ratio of not less than 30%. The resin porous body has communication holes obtained by first forming a formed body of resin in which a pore forming material having a melt point higher than the resin and being usable as a food material is compounded, and then extracting the pore forming material from the formed body using a solvent not dissolving the resin.
