PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel in which discharge delay is small and writing characteristics are superior even under finer resolution. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel is provided with scanning electrodes 22 and sustaining electrodes 23 arranged two by two alternately on the front substrate 21, scanning auxiliary electrodes 22b' in which a piece of electrode extended between neighboring two pieces of the scanning electrodes 22 is electrically connected to the one scanning electrode 22, the front plate dielectric layer 24 covering them, priming electrodes 36 formed in ladder shape by two pieces of the priming main electrodes arranged on the front plate dielectric layer 24 in parallel with the scanning electrodes 22 and by a plurality of the priming auxiliary electrodes connecting them electrically to each other, data electrodes 32 formed on the rear substrate 31, and barrier ribs 34 in which the main discharge cells 40 constituted of the scanning electrode 22, the sustaining electrode 23, and the data electrode 32, and the priming discharge cells 41a constituted of the scanning electrodes 22 and the priming electrodes 36 are partitioned.
