PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize error processing using retry or alternation processing, and realize a writing method of disposing recording data received from a host device in an optional position on a disk irrespective of a non-recorded area or a recorded area, which have been realized in an over-writable optical disk, even in a write-once optical disk such as CD-R or DVD-R which is physically impossible in overwriting, but now progressively increased in capacity and most spread as a recording medium. SOLUTION: In the method, when digital data are recorded in an optical disk having a physical address in a recordable area, which has been impossible in overwriting, the recordable area of the optical disk is divided into a read-in area, user area, and read-out area using the physical address; and an information area including a pointer to a list table for managing logical addresses allocated to all user areas is provided in a part of the read-in area, wherein the list table for managing the logical addresses is configured by arranging lists indicating correspondence between logical addresses and physical addresses in the user areas respectively.
