PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive device suitable for displaying electronic book information, the device which is a dry type and has fast response performance and a simple structure, and therefore, which stably gives excellent display performance. SOLUTION: The electronic book display device has a display unit 2 displaying the information from a memory medium and an operation unit 3 with various kinds of input keys gathered. The display unit 2 comprises a display board laid on an upper face of a planar casing 1, and the operation unit 3 can be housed inside the casing 1. The display board is produced by sealing an image display medium with a gas as a dispersion medium in a closed space between two opposing substrates at least one of which is transparent, and displays an image by applying an electric field on the image display medium to move the image display medium.
