PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detector capable of detecting the abnormality of an inspection object such as machinery, based on a sound or vibration generated in the inspection object. SOLUTION: This abnormality detector for obtaining an abnormality determination condition from an acoustic signal, by converting preliminarily the sound generated in the inspection object at a normal time into the acoustic signal, and for taking a sound other than the sound generated in the inspection object at the normal time in, in every prescribed sampling time, by detecting the sound generated in the inspection object at an inspection time, so as to determine the presence of the abnormality, is constituted to store the taken-in acoustic signal and the determination condition at the abnormality determination, when detecting the abnormality based on the acoustic signal. The stored acoustic signal and various determination conditions are thereby able to be read out in the abnormality detection, the acoustic signal is analyzed based thereon, and the determination condition is additionally corrected to remove a disturbance sound, when it is mixed as an analytical result therein.
