PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass for lighting containing substantially no lead, having sufficient electric insulation property and excellent thermal processability, and not liable to devitrify and separate into phases, and a stem tube, a bulb for incandescent lamp, and a bulb for compact fluorescent light therewith. SOLUTION: This glass for lighting contains substantially no lead, and contains 60-80% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0-1.5% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 2-12% SrO, 2-11% BaO+ZnO, 0.5-8% Li<SB>2</SB>O, 10-16% Na<SB>2</SB>O+K<SB>2</SB>O+Li<SB>2</SB>O, and 0.03-1% P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>in mass percentage.
