PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post-processing device having a control means capable of fully utilizing the processing capacity of the post-processing device and controlling the post-processing operation when the post-processing exceeding the processing capacity of thick papers is input. SOLUTION: The post-processing device capable of executing either binding, folding or punching of recording papers to be delivered from an image forming device and having an insertion means with an insertion paper loading table to load an insertion paper to be inserted in the recording papers comprises a thickness information input means to input thickness information of the insertion paper, a post-processing means to select the post-processing from binding, folding or punching, and a control means having the control function of calculating the maximum number of the post-processing according to the thickness of the insertion paper to control the post-processing based on information on the maximum number of the post-processing. The control means performs the control of the post-processing in an off line while comparing the thickness of the insertion papers and the number of the insertion papers and the recording papers with the maximum processing number.
