PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveyor drive control device formed of various types of conveyors combined with each other for orderly arranging, in one row, a group of containers temporarily loaded at random on a collecting conveyor after filling a liquid therein and sealing and feeding to a treatment device such as a labeller on the downstream side and a control method for the various type of conveyors by monitoring the speeds thereof. SOLUTION: This conveyor drive control device comprises a container counting means installed on a wide conveyor, photographs the containers 10 in a specified range on the conveyor from the upper side, and counting the number of the photographed containers to calculate the carrying capacity of the containers 10, container detection sensors S0, S1, S1, S2, and S3 installed on those conveyors 12, 13, and 14 other than the wide conveyor and detecting the number of the passing containers, and a controller having a control circuit incorporating a calculation circuit calculating the container carrying capacity of the conveyors 12, 13, and 14 from the number of the containers detected by the container detection sensors and comparing the calculated container carrying capacities of the conveyors with the container carrying capacities calculated by the container counting means to control the speeds of the conveyors.
