SLIM DATA STORING DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Process for producing a slim data storage device in which digital data can be recorded optically. A substrate made from an optically recordable material is formed and a helical track is defined while applying a light sensitive layer. A laser sensitive layer and a reflective layer are applied to the substrate. A varnish coating is applied onto the reflective layer or a printable layer is laminated onto said reflective layer. The helical track is burned with desired optical digital data and the die is cut, while and carrying out any other desired finishing operation. The slim data storage device may be produced by injection molding or by high pressure injection molding.
