<p>When transmitting a packet from a target port selected from two trunk ports, a relaying apparatus uses the target port, if available for communication, to transmit the packet. If the target port is not available for commutation and the other port is available for commutation, then the relaying apparatus turns on a bypass flag and uses the other port to transmit the packet. If the bypass flag is off, the relaying apparatus regards a received packet as having been received via the target port. If the bypass flag is on and the other port is available for commutation, the relaying apparatus uses the other port to relay the received packet. If the bypass flag is on and the other port is not available for commutation, the relaying apparatus regards a received packet as having been received via the other port.</p> |
