PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure fuel pump for a liquefied gas fuel supply device which supplies high pressure liquefied gas fuel to an engine, having improved fuel delivering capability by reliably opening/closing a check valve on a suction side at a proper timing to avoid the loss of fuel when delivered. SOLUTION: The high pressure fuel pump 2A comprises check valves 31A, 27b provided on the suction side and the discharge side of a fuel passage. Herein, the liquefied gas fuel is introduced into the fuel chamber 26A formed between the two check valves 31A, 27b, made into high pressure by a pump part 20A and delivered to the engine. The check valve 31A on the suction side is mechanically opened/closed at a preset timing by introducing the pressure fluctuation of operating fluid filled in a first pressure chamber 25A as a power source via a pipe 33 into a back chamber 30c of a cylinder 30a of a valve opening/closing means 30A to cause the slide of a piston 30b.
