PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous formed body capable of hardening without needing heat, and having excellent heat or water resistance as well as high strength. SOLUTION: This porous formed body is produced by forming and hardening a raw material containing amorphous silica, a reinforcing fiber and a filler in the presence of ammonia without heating.
