PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily add or re-set a document in an image forming device capable of reducing a time required from the instruction of printing to the operation of printing. SOLUTION: This ADF11 is a device for feeding a document to a document reading position R, and comprises a document placing part 31, a pressure sensor 33, and a lift plate drive part 35. The document placing part 31 comprises a lift plate 41 allowing the document to place thereon and vertically movable in the document loading direction. A paper feed roller 51 is disposed, through a distance, above the lift plate 41 disposed at the lowermost position, and movable upward when receiving a force from the underside by the lift plate 41. A pressure sensor 41 can detect an upward pressure on the paper feed roller 51. The lift plate drive plate 35 lowers the lift plate 41 when the upward pressure on the paper feed roller 51 is detected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
