In order that the center of the spindle motor (31A) of the spindle chassis (30A) and the center line of a pickup lens when a pickup (32) of the traverse base (30B) moves are aligned to each other, the traverse base (30B) is placed and fixed to the spindle chassis (30A) while being spring urged so as to be able to approach to and depart from the spindle chassis by a spring (39) mounted on a strut (38) of the spindle chassis (30A). The other end of the traverse mechanism (30) is supported at a base body (10) by a fixed cam. The traverse mechanism (30) is moved by a slider cam mechanism (51) to an insertion/discharge direction of a disk, and this causes fixed cams (34A, 34B) to make the other end side of the traverse mechanism (30) approach to and depart from the base body (10).
