<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode capable of suppressing variations in emission color tone occurring between light emitting diodes. <P>SOLUTION: An LED chip 14 is connected and secured onto a substrate 12 composed of an insulating material, one electrode of the LED chip 14 is connected with one external electrode 16a and the other electrode of the LED chip 14 is connected with the other external electrode 16b. First nonwoven fabric 20R, second nonwoven fabric 20G, and third nonwoven fabric 20B are arranged, in layers, on the LED chip 14 and a red emission phosphor 22R, a green emission phosphor 22G and a blue emission phosphor 22B are carried, respectively, on the surface of fibers 24 composing the first nonwoven fabric 22R, the second nonwoven fabric 22G and the third nonwoven fabric 22B. Furthermore, the LED chip 14 is surrounded by a frame member 28 and sealed with a translucent lid member 30 formed by filling the frame member 28 with a translucent material thus obtaining a light emitting diode 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
