<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, in the case of a graphite fluoride lithium battery, graphite fluoride as a cathode active material has not a good wettability with nonaqueous electrolyte solution, so that an effective reaction area of a cathode is small, but when a specific surface area of the graphite fluoride is made smaller, a reaction area of the cathode gets smaller and discharge characteristics at low temperature are degraded. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte solution battery provided with an anode with lithium metal or its alloy as an anode active material, a cathode with graphite fluoride as a cathode active material, and nonaqueous electrolyte solution, a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group is formed on the surface of the graphite fluoride as the cathode active material by either an ozone treatment, plasma treatment, corona treatment, or ultraviolet irradiation treatment to improve the wettability of the graphite fluoride with the nonaqueous electrolyte solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
