PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable power supply device and a charge control method therefor, wherein stable charging from a terminal for output is enabled. SOLUTION: The portable power supply device includes a DC input/output terminal 17 for input of direct-current power from a direct-current power source and output of direct-current power to a load; an internal accumulator 18 that can be charged with direct-current power from the DC input/output terminal 17; a charge control circuit 12 for controlling the input of the direct-current power to the internal accumulator 18 so that the voltage of input to the internal accumulator 18 becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined value; switching circuits 14 and 15, that switch between a first path that does not go through via the charge control circuit and a second path that does not go through via the charge control circuit to connect the DC input/output terminal 17 and the internal accumulator 18; and a voltage detector 19a for detecting the voltage of the DC input/output terminal 17.
