PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enhanced photoelectric image sensor and method. SOLUTION: A photoelectric image sensor 10 according to the present invention is provided with a screen to be biased (bias screen) and electron collector 11, and an electron discharge photosensitive material 12 disposed on a first side of the bias screen and electron collector. A capacitive charge accumulation material13 is disposed adjacently to the electron discharge photosensitive material and away from the bias screen and electron collector. A gating and reading circuit 14 is coupled to the bias screen and electron collector and the capacitive charge accumulation material. The present invention makes such improvement that a piezoelectric variable color filter 15 is disposed on a second side of the bias screen and electron collector, that a piezoelectric separation control circuit 16 is coupled to the piezoelectric variable color filter to control color separation, and that a current switch 17 connected to the electron collector is provided.
