PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image editing apparatus capable of creating a well-finished photo movie while preventing an operation from becoming troublesome. SOLUTION: An image editing apparatus 10 creates a photo movie using frame images read from a memory card 12 as materials. Frame classifying information is associated with image data and stored in files of the frame images so that the frame images may be assigned to specific scenes of the photo movie. An editing condition setting unit 31 reads the model form of a scenario from an HDD 28, and assigns the frame images to a plurality of scene categories defined by the scenario on the basis of the frame classifying information to complete the scenario. A photo movie generating unit 32 generates a photo movie on the basis of this scenario. The types of work editing processing and BGM are defined in the scenario according to each scene category, and work editing processing is applied to a batch of frame images belonging to each scene category.
