PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately and automatically select voice and subtitles during play back of a disk. SOLUTION: At a player side, an original language can be set as the language of voice stream to be reproduced. At a recording medium side, the voice stream by the original language is described at the topmost side in a clip information file. Moreover, when voice and subtitles are automatically set and the languages of the voice and the subtitles are matched, the subtitles are not to be displayed. For example, in a player setting 500, voice is in the original language, the subtitles are in Japanese and in a stream 501 included in the disk, the voice stream is in Japanese (the original language) and English and the subtitles are in English and Japanese. Therefore, Japanese, the original language is selected for the voice by the automatic setting and Japanese is also selected for the subtitles. Since the languages of the voice and the subtitles are matched, Japanese is selected for the voice and Japanese for the subtitles is not displayed in a stream 502 which is finally selected.
