PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patent management method that can facilitate the search of a target application from past applications. SOLUTION: Basic data that are downloaded data of required patent application publications and patent publications issued by Japan Patent Office and/or foreign patent offices or/and basic data created from publication documents are data-based. From the recorded basic data, inventor names and selected drawings are automatically sorted out and recorded in an inventor name storage area and a selected drawing recording area, respectively, according to designations, "Inventor" and "Selected Drawing", indicated in the basic data. The selected drawings recorded in the selected drawing recording area are sorted and recorded by inventor name, and linked to the corresponding basic data. The inventor names are listed on the screen of a display device. About an inventor selected from the displayed inventor names, the sorted selected drawings are sequentially displayed on the screen.
