PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor whose gravity center position is easily corrected at low cost, and to provide its assembling method. SOLUTION: The rotary compressor comprises a body container 11, a drive shaft 12 arranged in the body container 11, a rotary scroll 13 mounted on the drive shaft 12, a motor stator 14 provided on the inner face of the body container 11, a motor rotor 15 mounted on the drive shaft 12, and balance weights 16 mounted on the upper and lower parts of the motor rotor 15. It has a bolt 17 protruded on the motor rotor 15 and a nut 18 to be threaded to the bolt 17. An oblong hole 16a through which the bolt 17 passes is formed in the balance weight 16 so that the balance weight 16 is located at any position on the periphery of the drive shaft 12.
