The device consists of a 120 cm long wooden handle equipped with a pressed steel casing, into which seven special steel spikes each around 12.5 cm long have been pushed. The steel spikes expand upwards towards the collar automatically on applying gently pressure and thereby fit all widths of cracks. The collar is pushed under, around 2 cm to the end of the handle to hold the spikes together in order to remove imbedded weeds with their roots from broader cracks. Expandable parts can be attached to the handle by unscrewing the thumb screw in the steel casing.
