<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document edit method for reconstructing a region extracted by a predetermined pattern from a plurality of documents to display it in a form allowing a user to edit it. <P>SOLUTION: By using a set of patterns comprising a universal start pattern and an end pattern and document structure information, regions between parts corresponding to the set of the patterns from a plurality of documents are respectively extracted; and the results therefrom are collected and reconstructed according to the document structure information and layout information and displayed in a form allowing a user to edit them. The regions edited by the user are rewritten to the documents of the extraction sources. In addition, the document structure information includes information related to a document structure such as a hierarchical structure (inclusion relationship) of the regions in the documents, an appearance sequence and presence of repetition; and the layout information includes layout information such as a display position, font style, font size, arrangement of character strings and character color of each region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
