METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROL AND PROTECTION OF DIGITAL CONTENT WITH FLEXIBLE IPMP PROTECTION SCHEME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for control and protection of digital content with a flexible IPMP protection scheme.

SOLUTION: The method and the apparatus for control and protection of digital media with the flexible IPMP protection scheme are disclosed. The apparatus includes a control means in accordance with IPMP tool information, usage rules and digital signatures received as a part of the digital contents for governance of digital content and a protection means for protecting the digital content under the flexible IPMP tool protection scheme. An information scheme format includes the integration of IPMP tool information, IPMP signature information and usage rule information into a protection information part and the association of control and protection information with a digital content declaration model through mechanisms such as an implicit statement or an explicit URI and IPMP reference to achieve wide interoperability.
