PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection surface for a biosensor capable of suppressing nonspecific adsorption, and performing trace amount detection. SOLUTION: In this biosensor comprising a substrate coated with a hydrophobic polymer compound, the coating thickness of the hydrophobic polymer is 0.1 nm or more and 500 nm or less, and the number of defects with a diameter of 10 nm or more existing in the coating layer is 10 or less per 1μm<SP>2</SP>.
