PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly erasing technique when a video recording content is erased, by managing the video recording content recorded in a recording device through a digital broadcast receiver connected to the recording device, even if there is no special function in the recording device. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver includes an external communication interface means for connecting with a recording device; a data base management means for obtaining information of video recording content, which is recorded in the recording device, from the recording device connected through the external communication interface means, and forming or managing the data base for managing the video recording content based on the obtained information of video recording content; and a control means for controlling the operation of the recording device based on the content of the data base.
