PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where faulty transfer such as the scattering of a toner image is surely prevented from occurring under low humidity environment or the like even when a recording medium is high-resistance paper such as coated paper. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus where an image is formed by finally transferring the toner image formed on an image carrier onto the recording medium through at least one intermediate transfer member is constituted to provide a control means for controlling a transfer parameter at a transfer part positioned on a more upstream side than a final transfer part in accordance with the kind of the recording medium.
