<p>A tooth reduction measuring system comprises a holding tool (10) having a proximal end (16) and a distal end (14). A flexible loop (18) extends from the distal end (14) and defines an opening (19). The loop (18) has a thickness Prom the range of about 1 mm to about 2 mm and the opening (19) is a size large enough to be placed around a tooth (30). The loop (18) is adapted to be positioned relative to a pair of opposing teeth (30,38), one (30) of which has been reduced. In this way, the pair of opposing teeth (30,38) is within the opening (19) and the loop (18) may be pulled by the shaft (12) of the holding tool (10) into a gap (36) between opposing teeth (30,38) to permit evaluation of the size of the gap (36) based on the thickness of the loop (18).</p> |
