<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-brightness, compact white light-emitting device that uses a blue or blue-purple light-emitting diode. <P>SOLUTION: This is a white light-emitting device wherein a blue or blue-purple light-emitting diode and one or more kinds of fluorescent materials are combined, the fluorescent materials that absorb light emitted from the light-emitting diode, emit light in a visible range, in which the fluorescent materials are selected such that emitted light of the light-emitting diode and the fluorescent materials are added to have a mutually color-wise complementary relationship, and light is emitted as a white color having a light emitting chromaticity point in the region shown by W in a chromaticity coordinate of the drawing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
