PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a microorganism, capable of rapidly and accurately detecting the microorganism. SOLUTION: This method for measuring microorganisms capable of rapidly and accurately detecting microorganisms in a specimen is obtained by using a microscope, fluorescent, atomic force microorganism detecting means 15 by processing observation data in detail of an outline and surface profile of the microorganism obtained by using an atomic force microscope observation means 5 having a mechanism for observing a part identical to a part observed by a microscope observation means 3 not requiring fluorescent dyeing, or by processing measurement data obtained by using the atomic force microscope observation means 5 having a mechanism for observing a position identical to a part observed by a fluorescent observation means 11 with fluorescent dyeing.
