The mobile bridge system (6) to support long conveyors, to carry heavy materials over relatively long distances, is composed of a number of segments (5) linked together. The segments are carried by self-propelled tracked vehicles (8) to give three types of support mountings (A-C) of different static ratings to give defined static support to the conveyor loading (Fz) on the horizontal and vertical planes. The self-propelled vehicles are arranged in master and slave configurations, and can be positioned accurately by a global positioning system (GPS) and the like.
