A protector, designed to prevent trouser bottoms from getting worn by dragging on the ground, consists of a U-shaped holder (1) which is attached to the back of a shoe by pivots (2) at the sides so that it rests on the heel. The middle of the holder is equipped with a clamp (3) which is clipped to the bottom edge of a trouser leg to hold it off the ground. The pivots can be in the form of press-studs, and a shield behind the clamp can offer additional protection.
