The safety connection includes an emitter device which is integrated within the head (12) of the removable bottle of gas (10) and solidly attached to it. The receiver (14) is connected to the emitter device and is linked to a gas user circuit via an output conduit (24). The emitter and receiver devices comprise respective female and male elements co-operating to prevent any sudden or involuntary separation of the two components, particularly when the pressure of gas in the bottle (10) is greater than a predetermined pressure. The emitter comprises a number of hooks (20) formed in a collar (16) which coaxially surround the head (12). A piston (34) is provided to operate a locking finger (38) via a lever (40) whose pivot (42) is solidly attached to the receiver. The piston may be operated by an electromagnetic device, with a solenoid controlling the withdrawal of the finger when it is electrically supplied.
