<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet which is excellent in transferability and reproducibility on the occasion of thermal transfer for a transfer object such as a plastic card having a high surface smoothness and hardly allowing a transfer layer from the thermal transfer sheet to adhere thereto and which also settles an environmental problem in relation to disposal. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer sheet of which the transfer layer 11 having at least an adhesion layer 3 made the uppermost layer is provided on one side of a base 2, the adhesion layer 3 is formed of a polyester resin having a mass average molecular weight of 5,000 to 10,000 and a glass transition temperature of 50 to 80°C. Thereby the thermal transfer sheet 1 excelling in the transferability and reproducibility on the occasion of the thermal transfer for the transfer object such as the plastic card having the high surface smoothness and hardly allowing the transfer layer 11 from the sheet to adhere thereto is obtained, and besides the environmental problem in relation to disposal can be settled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
