<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a D-aminoacylase of high substrate specificity that can be utilized for producing D-amino acid, for example, D-phenylalanine, in high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The new micro-organism in Microbacterium has been deposited to the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) Patented Microorganism Depository as FERM P-20157.
