PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive inverter, the reaction time of which can freely be controlled without degrading the drive capability, which can be realized with a very small number of components, and the mount area and the power consumption of which can be reduced. SOLUTION: The adaptive inverter includes a logical threshold variable inverter 2 including an input terminal, an output terminal, and a threshold control terminal CNT and capable of continuously controlling the logical threshold voltage, depending on a voltage of a threshold control voltage signal given to the threshold control terminal CNT; and a control signal generating circuit 3 that switches the voltage of the threshold control voltage signal of the logical threshold variable inverter 2 into a voltage, in response to the logical level of the input signal or the output signal of the logical threshold variable inverter 2 at the time delayed by a prescribed time from the time, when the input signal or the output signal of the logical threshold variable inverter 2 transits.
