PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which has good user-friendliness and automatically selects a destination suitable for a transmitting route from the group-designated destination for transmission. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes an address book memory 13 for storing an address book including a FAX number and a mail address in the destination, a group table memory 15 for storing a group table which registers a group including a plurality of destinations, a transmitting instruction reception part 21 for receiving the instruction of a FAX transmission or an I-FAX transmission, a sending destination reception part 23 for receiving a sending destination group from the registered group of the group table, a destination selector 25 for selecting the designation having a FAX number from the group at the FAX transmission and selecting the destination having a mail address from the group at the I-FAX transmission, a FAX transmitter 31 for transmitting the FAX to the selected FAX number destination at the FAX transmission, and an I-FAX transmitter 33 for transmitting the I-FAX to the selected mail address at the I-FAX transmission.
