PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dope fiber which enables an amplification band to be effectively expanded. SOLUTION: The dope fiber has a core composed of a first glass composition and a clad composed of a second glass composition surrounding the core, wherein the core and the clad cross-sectionally have a refractive index profile for the purpose of providing an optical waveguide structure. The first glass composition includes a first dopant for raising the refractive index, a second dopant for providing the amplification band by optical pumping, and a third dopant for expanding the amplification band.
