PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the defective molding of ribs from occurring in a medium carrying device and simplify operations such as mold machining. SOLUTION: This medium carrying device comprises the ribs on a carrying passage for carrying a medium. A mold for molding the ribs is of one dividable through a mold dividing surface, and the mold dividing surface is formed at a position corresponding to near the tip parts of the ribs. Since air and other gases are bled from the mold dividing surface when a resin is filled in the mold in an injection molding step, the resin can be sufficiently filled to the tip part of the cavity of the mold. Accordingly, the defective molding of the ribs can be prevented from occurring. Also, since the mold can be divided, operations such as machining can be simplified. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
