PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering gear for a vehicle, easy to operate from the viewpoint of human engineering, in which arms holding operation elements need not be crossed, and in which the need of shifting the operation element from one arm to the other is eliminated. SOLUTION: This steering gear 10B is provided with an operation lever 21b disposed on the side of a driver's seat or at the front of a side part, and supported on a car body to be rotatable forward and backward of a vehicle, a grip 250 provided at an upper part of the operation lever 21b to be held by the driver, and a converting mechanism to convert forward and backward motion of the operation lever 21b into driving action of a driving wheel.
