PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for joining a strip member in which its splice part is not loosened by tensile force etc., applied when raised by a bladder in the molding of a tire by the holding force of a sticking sheet stuck to straddle the splice part of the strip member and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In the method for joining the strip member in which the strip member is turned and both end parts in the longitudinal direction are joined together, at least one sticking sheet is stuck to straddle both end parts in the longitudinal direction in the longitudinal direction of the strip member to cover at least one end part side part in the width direction of the strip member in the splice part of the strip member.
