In a device for processing sheet-type products, particularly a device for stacking sheet-type products, such as banknotes (100), the conveyed sheet-type products are decelerated by, at a point in time at which the sheet-type products are not completely stopped, effecting a slowing down only on a portion of the sheet-type products located at the rear with regard to the direction of conveyance. The forces of inertia exerted in the sheet-type products during the slowing down process leads to an automatic stretching of the sheet-like products whereby a folding and creasing are compensated for or completely prevented during slowing down. |
