The invention relates to a storage element (ET) for contactless chip cards (CK), which can be read in particular by inductive coupling. The storage element at least partially consists of a highly permeable, soft magnetic and/or highly dielectric material (TEX). Preferably, the highly permeable and/or highly dielectric material is a textile structure, such as e.g. a woven fabric consisting of wires or strips. The storage element can be a sleeve, a case, a purse or a wallet. The dimensions of the chip cards conform to the DIN/ISO 7810 standards. A chip card that is inserted into or placed in the inventive storage element can no longer be read by an RFID read device that operates inductively. The material, which is also electrically conductive, affords protection against electric and electromagnetic fields in addition to magnetic fields. The woven fabric enables the creation of a flexible storage element.
